This text is being taken from a report, dated 3.10.90 from Stephane Mallart, and Andre Gallot, France-Inter Radio "Chroniques Sauvages".

In 1885, the abbe Beranger Saunieres arrives at Rennes-le-Chateau. He gets funds from the dioscese to repair the church. Soon after he finds some old parchments written in old French and in Latin. He goes to Paris to have bits of it translated. Then he returns and digs the local cemetary. Soon after, he can't dig anymore because no one like that kind of work.

Strangely enough, soon after he has money, lots of it. Some one saw piles of gold coins (some 18,500,000 of them) more than the added world gold reserves at that time. Even the Vatican investigated.

He loans money to every one, builds things.

When the abbe dies, he is broke. Years later,Noel Corbut buys the house from his maid Marie Denarnaud. She lives there. She is broke too. She hates to sell the house because she says she can't. She doesn't want to touch the money of the abbe.

Noel Corbut opens a restaurant in 1955. He had read some documents, and Marie told him things, even though she did not speak much.
