The Leviathan was commanded by Colonel Tigh, Adama’s second who was promoted to Commander and he was accompanied by Captain Apollo who now accepted the position of colonel and second in command. As Apollo left his father and son on the Galactica, his old friend Boomer was made colonel and Apollos’ own son “Boxey” Troy was also now a grown man and stayed with his grandfather to be an active member of the Galactica.
Mere months after the Leviathans departure, communication was lost with the Galactica; the Leviathan was never to know that just four yahrens latter their old friends discovered a 1980s version of earth. The Leviathan and her fleet dealt with their first cylon encounter well, however, a few weeks latter Commander Tigh suffered a series of heart attacks and it fell to Col. Appollo to move up to the role of Leviathan’s Commander. Many felt that Apollo was still not ready for such a task and there was much talk of heading back towards the Galactica’s last known co-ordinates
But Apollo had won the respect and backing of Councillor Tiresias. An elderly civilian statesman who had been a Wiseman even in colonial times and had celebrated his centurons birthday many yahrens earlier. Leader to the Leviathan’s council of twelve, his age old voice convinced all but one to approve Apollo’s promotion. And so the Levithan and her rag-tag fleet of “refugee carriers,” agricultural and sanitation ships continues on their way; under the command of Apollo who now has to prove his worth and justify Tiresias’ faith and trust whilst under the watchful eye of a council of twelve who has wavering faith in the ability to operate alone.
