Well, I must say that I've found "City of Dreams" to be consistantly compelling so far, although naturally I preferred some episodes over others ("Rolling Thunder" and "Friends of Jacky Clay" are my favourites thus far.)
However, should Mr. Straczynski or anyoneelse involved in producing the series read this post, I have a suggestion in the area of casting. While I greatly enjoy the work of the Seeing Ear Theatre stock company (Todd Cummings, Merwin Goldsmith, Anne Bobby, etc.), I do hope that perhaps some episodes might use veteran radio actors from the 40's and 50's, especially those associated with great science-fiction or mystery shows. Since I'm fairly sure the series is recorded in New York, perhaps such performers as Jackson Beck or Jack Grimes or Amzie Strickland could be persuaded to participate. Of course, I don't know how many episodes have been recorded already; for all I know the entire series could be completed by now. I also understand that perhaps Mr. Straczynski may not have any scripts with roles which the producers might consider suitable for these performers (or vice versa), and of course considering their advancing years they might be unwilling or unable to participate. However, I for one would be thrilled if even one old time radio actor (of the few who are still around) were used, even in a bit part. To me, it would add a touch of authenticity to the production. As I said before, the casts thus far have been excellent, but it would be great to hear some old favorites as well. If anyone involved with "City of Dreams" reads this, please consider the idea.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Andrew Leal
