A fantasy epic that will out live and out challenge "The Lord of the Rings!" The sheer depth of characters and the depth of emotions and topics covered in these books are without a doubt both mature and challenging. Does not everyone feel that they are a victim of circumstance,..of current society? Who has not felt that destiny and wonders are for the very rich, or the beautiful or the jocks? When a leper who had once held fame in his arms and lost all hope but his iron will and intestinal fortitude to not be denied, is chosen by the god of fate to be a hero to a land that depends on his herosim for sheer existence, he at first denies the mere fact that a world can exist; and second learns that he does not know it all, and by sheer stubborness leads a host of heroes, giants, and monk-like warriors against a god of evil no one can kill, with supreme powers he doesn't know how to use, against odds which dictate tha he cannot win and does. But at one helluva cost! Would you?
