I've never read the book you talk about, but if you like it I would suggest checking out Dialogues with the Devil by Taylor Caldwell. It presents itself as a series of letters (ala the Screwtape Letters) between Lucifer and the Archangel Michael. Lucifer sees himself as trying to protect God's honor because he thinks that God's forgiveness of sinful mankind is demeaning to God. It was written in the 70's so some of it is kind of dated, and in the middle of the book, the letters get repetitive, but it is still a very interesting book. It is also short (roughly 150 pages) so if it is not your taste, you're not out too much of your time.
