Hi, I as most of you am a huge Sliders fan, I followed the show from it's beginning and unfortunately to it's bitter end. I was mostly a fan of the first two seasons. I myself am a writer, I've written for several episodes of television shows and eventually submitted a pitch to NBC for my own idea of a television show, a scifi show, they bought it and to make a long story short they're filming a pilot and hopefully all of you will enjoy it. It is most likely going to air as a mid season replacement on NBC around March or April of 2003.
My show is called "LOST" and this is the premise: A scientists in his mid fifties who's sporatic and overly anxious discovers his life's work is not a failure as he "makes an object vanish in thin air". Excited he scrambles his things together and gets in the elevator in his building to head to the university to tell them the news, unfortunately he and two others ( a lawyer and a female intern nurse) get stuck in the elevator, and by accident the scientists machine goes off sending them to another existence...a parallel earth.
So that's the premise but we also get a fourth character into the mix, introduced on a "60's style" earth, a hippy who brings humor to the characters. He gets in to the mix because he's "into the earth travelling groove". He's more or less a stoner (off screen).
The scientist and his new "friends" must get along while they travel from world to world to go home.
Basically I was a huge fan of Quantum Leap and Sliders and I decided to make my own variation of scifi. I hope the pilot is successful.
So when it airs please watch it.
Thankyou.
