Guess what? According to this guy, the one aspect of S3 that that would've actually looked *good* as a cheap CGI graphic... was for real.

"I'm watching that Fox show Sliders while I'm typing this. If you haven't seen it yet, the show's premise is just like Quantum Leap, except that it is 4 people jumping into different dimensions. In this particular episode, everything is similar to Ancient Egypt. Every once in a while, they'll cut over to a shot of a large blue pyramid towering over some trees. That pyramid is the state-of-the-art basketball arena at Long Beach State, so naturally, I have to laugh. Ah, memories. The practice room I shared with the rest of the tuba/euphonium players was right under the Pyramid, so when the room was in use, I'd grab a chair and a music stand and just park it right in front of the building. Out in the open, listening to the horn blasts reverb off the blue plexiglass... watching the reflections on the large glass doors shiver when I played double forte. There wasn't much walking traffic and the only people walking around would be voice majors who would sing my music in solfege, or the dance majors (outrageous babes with pretty smiles and strong legs) who would sneak up behind me and push the buttons on my horn, causing me to lose my train of thought."

My quick fast-forward through the episode yielded only one such blue pyramid: in the teaser, directly after Wade's glance at the mailbox.
