Every so often, the suggestion is made that Sliders deserves its own soundtrack album.

Slider_10: "It could have the theme songs, all of Remmys songs, key scenes from the series and other misc items."
QBall43185: "It should also contain the music from the Stoker episode (including the song Sabrina Lloyd sang) and Mel Torme's song in Greatfellas..."
VortexMan: "I was just thinkin that it would be a pretty cool thing. I know I would buy it."
Slider_10: "We could always make one ourselves."
Well, for the last few months, Israeli slider TheUnstuckMan and I have been doing just that. Among the facts uncovered have been the origin of "Stoker"'s music with a short-lived punk band, the source of Rembrandt's song at Arturo's wake (not to mention the words a supposedly hung-over Cleavant transposed), and the amusing knowledge that not only was "Tight Pants" apparently lip-synced to a studio take, but the same take was used BOTH TIMES.
Now, you too can finally hear the first 50 cuts of the Sliders online soundtrack project:

Highlights include an edited version of "Tears in My Fro" -- without the overlapping dialogue, an extended remix of Wade's duet with vampire-boy, and the painfully rare (thanks to FOX/Sci-Fi promos) uncut end credit theme songs.
You'll need an MP3 player: [www.winamp.com] for Windows, [www.apple.com/itunes] or [www.applesource.f2s.com/software/amp3] for Macs.
The eventual Volume II, in addition to displacing Volume I (this stuff takes up space, you know!), will focus more on the sounds of the first two seasons (since they're next up to be rerun in Canada.) Suggestions as to which scores you'd like to hear next are always welcome.
Enjoy!
