SYNTHIA: Darn it! YOU SAID you were finishing Earth 69 next!!!

BLINKER: Yeah, I just haven't had the time to make them as excruciatingly awful as they deserve. Anyway, I got a very sweet e-mail this morning requesting another episode game, and seeing as it's a lot harder to botch those, here we are! SYNTHIA: All right, "Last of Eden" it is. My good thing is the visual homage to Ellison's "A Boy and His Dog" as Quinn approaches the underground city...

BLINKER: Oh, as if Josef Anderson's HEARD of Harlan Ellison. He was probably "paying homage" to his childhood hours spent staring through one end of a toilet paper roll.

SYNTHIA: ...and my bad thing is that the ending is monumentally stupid and pointless. Some people leave the valley. Some people stay. Either way, we never find out what happens to either group or what lies beyond, just that the Hunk of the Week immediately gets into a wrestling match with one of the cannibals.

BLINKER: And for additional effect, we never learn the outcome of THAT event either!

SYNTHIA: Ughghhh...

BLINKER: Okay, my good thing is that for a brief, happy time, this episode had me totally convinced that JRD had rejoined the cast.

SYNTHIA: Oh?

BLINKER: See, I was *utterly* sure during that era that he was just on hiatus and would be popping back to the show any day now. So when I raced to the TV and tuned in to "Last of Eden" partway through, my only regret was having missed how they pulled it off.

SYNTHIA: And your bad thing is that he was gone again the next week?

BLINKER: Oh, heck no! My bad thing is that they didn't play this musical stage description from the Earth 69 version!
