Article: Sardukar. Gay? Harkonen. Transgender?

What was up with the symbolism in this film? I thought the Sardukar uniforms were very much in the style of Japanese samurai armor. They were also in all red and had small gold insignia that made me think of Communism. But the symbol was four pronged, and was reminiscent of the Nazi Swastika. Then I noticed that they also wear an upside-down triangle, the symbol of the lesbian movement. I also caught a glimpse of a rainbow. It was all white, but it was definately in the shape of a rainbow. And lastly, you could hardly miss the icon of a combined male and female sybol on the Baron's cloak. I can understand about the Baron, but why include Gay-communist-nazi-samurais?
